Dr. Paul King, M.D. - Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatry
Dr. Paul King serves as the Medical Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program at Turning Point Recovery in Southaven, Mississippi. He is also the Medical Director of Parkwood Hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Dr. King earned a Master’s degree in Microbiology and his MD degree from Cornell University Medical College. He obtained his psychiatric training at New York Hospital’s Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic, and fellowship training in child psychiatry at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
Dr. King has taught at the high school, college and medical school levels and has trained psychiatric residents. He has practiced medicine in Tennessee and Mississippi for over 30 years.
In 1988, Dr. King authored, “Sex, Drugs, Rock-n-Roll: Healing Today’s Troubled Youth.” He has testified on adolescent issues at a U.S. Senate Subcommittee Hearing in 1996 and worked together with Tipper Gore, wife of former Vice-President Al Gore, on community issues involving our youth. He has appeared on numerous network television shows, including The Today Show and CNN News.
Dr. King also serves as the Medical Director for the CME Institute of Physicians Postgraduate Press, which enhances the education of practicing psychiatrists. Dr. King has a strong and long standing reputation as a caring and knowledgeable professional in the medical community.
